Thank God for Girlfriends!

As we all know, or any female reading this knows, girlfriends can be second to none at the most important times in life. I look back on when I was in the dating years & how many laughs and cries I had with them and then when I met Matt, how I had their overwhelming support and love. I knew he was special and it meant the WORLD to me that my girlfriends knew that, too.

When we were engaged and then on our wedding day, it was the most incredible time to spend with family & friends, especially my girls!! I will never forget those moments and those times together. It seems during the happiest moments, half the joy is sharing it with those we love.

Now that we are once again on a new chapter of life, I should not find it surprising that my girlfriends are once again, there for me. This time it's a bit different though. A handful of my closest gals and even my two sisters and mom, do not live in my state- right now and probably for a while, it will be hard to not have them near me. While my besties have been by my side and will always I hope, I have been drawn to new (& old) friends who now have babies or are even pregnant now, too. I feel at times as if we are speaking a totally different language than others. A secret language that makes everybody a little giddy!

All this baby lingo spoken from seasoned moms to a new mom about the best bottles, breastfeeding tips, sleeping tips, favorite baby carrier, etc..I am sooooo grateful for all of this insight and no book has told me to buy 'x' product over another. At the same time this is soooo much new information to try and absorb in a short period of time! Whew..info overload at times.

Of course Matt and I want to be the best parents possible and like everything new, will include some trial and error. I am thankful I have had some wonderful girlfriends trek this road before me and give me some pointers that hopefully will make everyone happy when baby Garrett comes.

Thank you to my girls, near and far, for your continued support to Matt and I as a couple and us as new parents-to-be! This journey is just beginning...:)
